The title honors the brilliant Bill Watterson, creator of Calvin and Hobbes. An ongoing part of their relationship was Hobbes (the tiger) eagerly waiting for his friend Calvin to return home from school, then ambushing him with a wild and joyful pounce. It shows how we all return to our core nature but can still show love and affection in the ways we know how. It reminds me of how my Bernese Mountain Dogs greet me when I return home from work.
