My first experiment with creating LEGO stained glass! With the release of the LEGO Dots series, there were even more opalescent and translucent pieces. But LEGO Art sets still hadn’t incorporated any, and mosaic design tools didn’t even include these colors as options. Recognizing an opportunity for a new type of mosaic, I was determined to show how the color range was even broader using light to illumine these new pieces. As I did so, I realized other transparent and translucent colors, which had been part of the palette for years, also added unique tones and beauty. One of my favorites is translucent neon orange from the Ice Planet theme. Notice how the color deepens as you view it from an angle. Like my other designs, the same image can change as you shift perspective. This is a good reminder for life, too ☺.
