Thom Yorke’s work often moves between uncertainty, introspection and the search for meaning. The line “I’ll drown my beliefs” suggests a willingness to let go of what we think we know. That idea resonates with my own interest in perception. Looking closely sometimes requires suspending recognition, assumptions and certainty, allowing the image to become unfamiliar before it becomes visible again. I’ll Drown My Beliefs is a portrait of Yorke, but also an invitation to question what we bring to the act of looking.
