Dissolve #3

Close-ups and extreme close-ups are the core of my visual work. I am obsessed with the 90s underground aesthetics and the kind of vivid neon color schemes that often came along with grungy cd covers. Dissolve #3 is part of a series of intimate portraits deeply inspired by this in your face, yet almost surreal atmosphere. I used what I call my glazing technique (a surimposition of matte and transparent plates) to achieve the sense of liquid lighting reflected on the face.
