A Look Around the Neighborhood

Having experimented with several large pieces, I wanted to stretch into 3-D mosaics. The Solar System is huge, complex, and beautiful – perfect for LEGO art. The sun and planets are three dimensional, including Saturn’s rings. This is not even close to scale. The sun is 109 times wider than Earth, so using the LEGO Earth here, a true-to-scale LEGO sun would cover almost 3,000 square feet! I like the sense of motion radiating from and orbiting around the sun. In a vast, lifeless expanse, our tiny world deflects just the right amount of our star’s intense energy to protect and promote our delicate ecosystem.
